Our History

RWR was started in 1956 by Robert W. Ross, who was born and raised in Kalispell. Bob’s mother emigrated from Norway and settled in the Smith Valley area in 1903. The roots of the Ross family have gone deep into this area in the last hundred years!

Integrity, Relationships, Communication, Customer Service, Resources, Excellence, Craftsmanship & Knowledge in all areas of the Construction Trade – are just some of the “Pieces” the Ross family brings together, to build… your future!

Building Your Future… since 1956!

From the beginning, JoAnne Ross worked at her husband Bob’s side to make the business a success. In 1975 Bob and JoAnne’s two sons, Bob Jr., and Don began working with him. Over the years all of the 6 Ross kids and numerous grandchildren (and even in-laws!) have worked for the company, catching the spirit and work ethic of their dad, father-in-law, and granddad, the founder of RWR!

The Business was located at Bob and JoAnne’s home until 1995. In 2000, Bob & Cathy (Ross) Helder and in 2001, Brian & Susan (Ross) Dykhuizen came home to the Flathead Valley to join the Ross team! On January 26, 2001 Bob Ross Sr. gave up building in the Flathead Valley for building mansions with the Master Carpenter.

In February 2005, RWR moved into its’ new Client Service Center located in Westbrook Square: 1079 Highway 2 West in Kalispell (click for map).
